My appointment on August 24th with the Dental Nurse (hygienist) was an excellent experience. Her obvious professional experience was readily detected and appreciated. HPU need more like her!!

My experience here has been excellent. During my first visit, Dr. Hannah was straightforward, welcoming, and took the time to show me how serious my tooth issue had become. He made sure I fully understood what was wrong and explained how I could prevent future dental problems. My second visit was for a filling, and honestly, I was extremely nervous beforehand. Dental anxiety is very real and I walked in expecting to be tense the entire time. That completely changed once Student Dr. Yan Zhang began working with me. He is hands down one of the most compassionate, patient, and calming dental professionals I have ever met. From the very beginning, he explained every single step before doing anything, checked on me throughout the procedure, and made sure I was comfortable the entire time. His bedside manner is incredible and made me feel safe and relaxed almost immediately. What impressed me the most was the level of care and precision he put into his work. He never made me feel rushed and treated me with kindness and professionalism the whole appointment. By the end of the procedure, my anxiety was completely gone. Dr. Roth is kind and compassionate, pays attention to detail, and is an experienced and careful surgeon. I’m glad he was the one in charge of my care. He did a great job and checked on me after I went home. Everyone at his clinic was really nice and helpful as well.

Update after second visit: All of the staff seemed exceptional this visit. The hygienist and the doctor were very kind and professional. Front desk knowledgeable and helpful. My student interactions were also better- closer supervision and fast, helpful service. I got a cleaning and had multiple issues resolved today in relatively less time. I will be sticking with HPU as long as this standard of care can be met. Thank you! Original review after first visit to establish care: I didn't have a great first experience. The doctor and student were nice, but there needs to be more student supervision because I was there for almost 3 hours just to establish care. I got no cleaning and my cracked tooth was not fixed (I did inform them a month prior that I had a cracked tooth). There were several unnecessary X-rays (20 or so) because the student had a hard time getting the correct x-ray. I expected to at least have a cleaning. I am going to go back for a second appointment to see if service improves, and I will update my review. I believe in education, but walking away almost 3 hours later with nothing done to help me, only an "assessment," is a hard pill to swallow.
